La Oficina Municipal de Información al Consumidor (OMIC) de Vícar, ha hecho pública las estadística de atención ciudadana de los primeros cinco meses del presente año, y que arroja un total de 690 consultas y reclamaciones, de las que 111 corresponden a expedientes de consumo. El alcalde de Vícar, Antonio Bonilla, ha valorado positivamente el nivel de consultas por parte de consumidores y usuarios, "supone una media de 35 atenciones por semana, siendo la telefonía, con un 50% la que ha registrado un mayor número de expedientes". Asimismo, el alcalde vicario ha destacado las 108 gestiones y reclamaciones sobre cláusulas abusivas, realizadas en esto primeros cinco meses del año, " a ello hay que sumar, las 165 gestiones y reclamaciones elevadas al Banco de España y las 80 relativas a reestructuración de deuda hipotecaria, dación en pago, condonación y alquiler social"
El nivel de reclamaciones presentadas por los consumidores y usuarios es muy similar al del ejercicio anteriores en esta fecha, según ha explicado la concejal delegada de la OMIC, Vanesa Lidueña, quien ha indicado que en el caso de la telefonía, la compañía con más reclamaciones ha sido Vodafone, con 15 de lso 50 expedientes iniciados, seguida de Jazztel con 10 expedientwes, y Yoigo y Movistar con siete cada una, "si bien las reclamaciones alcanza a todas las compañías y tiendas dedicadas a la telefonía como Phonehouse, con dos expedientes de reclamación.

Los comercios, desde tiendas de ropa a supermercados, acaparan el segundo puesto con un total de 15 reclamaciones, mientras que el comercio online va en aumento en cuanto a expedientes de reclamación, con seis, por detrás de los bancos, con 12, las suministradoras eléctricas, con 9, y los seguros con 7 expedientes. Según Vanesa Lidueña, " también se han registrado reclamaciones a estaciones de servicio, empresas de transportes, gestorías, restauración, empresa de tasaciones.

La OMIC; como servicio de atención directa y gratuita del Ayuntamiento, está operativa desde abril de 2008, por lo que acaba de cumplir diez año, y tiene su sede en la Casa de la Juventud y el Deporte, en Venta Gutiérrez, y en ella los ciudadanos y ciudadanas del municipio a solicitar información sobre aquellos problemas que puedan afectarles como consumidores y tramitar sus quejas y reclamaciones.

Según la concejal responsable, “el principal objetivo de la OMIC es facilitar la mayor información y orientación al consumidor sobre cuáles son sus derechos y las vías de que dispone para ejercerlos y en ese sentido la labor que se viene realizando está siendo muy positiva”. La OMIC de Vícar, ofrece información permanente sobre todas las cuestiones referentes al consumo, así como orientación y asesoramiento sobre los derechos como consumidores y los cauces existentes para su adecuado ejercicio. Además realiza labores de mediación entre las partes afectadas en la búsqueda de una solución correcta a cada reclamación y ofrece apoyo técnico y coordinación con las asociaciones de consumidores.
