En los últimos cuatro años, la actividad de cruceros en Andalucía creció de forma importante: un 13,6% en pasajeros y un 18,6% en número de escalas.
Estos datos fueron presentados en la Asamblea General de Suncruise Andalucía, asociación para la promoción de la actividad de cruceros en la Comunidad Autónoma, celebrada hoy en el Puerto de Málaga, a la que ha asistido la presidenta de la Autoridad Portuaria de Almería, Mari Carmen Ortiz, junto a los presidentes de las autoridades portuarias de la región.

La Asamblea realizó un análisis de las acciones llevadas a cabo de manera conjunta para la promoción del tráfico de cruceros en Andalucía, tales como la asistencia a las ferias más importantes del sector ‘Seatrade Cruise Global’ y ‘Seatrade Med’, así como de otros ejes estratégicos que se han puesto en marcha en los últimos años: propuestas que animen a las navieras a incluir los destinos andaluces en sus itinerarios, creación de una oferta conjunta relacionada con el turismo náutico-deportivo o el desarrollo de propuestas técnicas para ofrecer itinerarios marítimos que operen en los destinos andaluces.

Según un estudio realizado por Turismo Andaluz sobre la actividad de cruceros en 2017, el gasto medio del crucerista es de 40,6 euros/día.
Además, el 87,7% del turismo de cruceros en la región es internacional, habiendo realizado una valoración muy positiva del destino: 9,2 sobre 10.
