La candidata del PSOE a la Alcaldía de Almería, Adriana Valverde, ha anunciado hoy su intención de poner en marcha un Plan de Políticas Sociales que ayude al reequilibrio territorial de la ciudad, con el objetivo último de reducir las desigualdades entre los distintos barrios, si obtiene la confianza de los almerienses en las próximas elecciones municipales del mes de mayo.
Entre sus propuestas más importantes destaca aplicar un Plan contra la Pobreza Infantil, con dotación presupuestaria, desarrollar un programa específico de educadores sociales en la calles, especialmente orientado a atender a la población infantil y juvenil, llevar a cabo planes de empleo y reforzar la red de servicios sociales municipal destinando al menos 100 euros por habitante o el 10 por ciento del presupuesto del Ayuntamiento.

“Cuando los socialistas hablamos de bienestar estamos hablando de acabar con la pobreza, especialmente la que más duele, la pobreza infantil, de conseguir unos servicios sociales de calidad, de igualdad entre mujeres y hombres, de las necesidades de los jóvenes, de vivienda social, de empleo y de proporcionar a las personas dependientes o que presentan alguna discapacidad la atención que merecen”, ha manifestado.
A su juicio, “el actual gobierno en el Ayuntamiento no ha sido capaz de revertir la situación de desigualdad en Almería en estos 16 años de gobierno” y como ejemplo ha apuntado que “el mandato comenzó con una partida económica de 20.000 euros para atender situaciones de emergencia social, cantidad a todas luces insuficiente para resolver las necesidades de una ciudad de casi 200.000 habitantes” y que “gracias a la presión que ejercimos desde el PSOE se aumentó, pero sólo a 70.000 euros, con los que tampoco se podrá atajar el problema de la pobreza estructural en los barrios de nuestra ciudad”.

Según la candidata a la Alcaldía, “los almerienses esperan de su Ayuntamiento que trabaje para erradicar la pobreza infantil porque es un problema actual con graves repercusiones sociales en el futuro”. En este sentido, ha señalado cómo en Andalucía, el 19,1 por ciento de los niños y niñas vive situación de pobreza severa, según la organización Save The Children, dato que es extrapolable a Almería, donde el 36,7% de los habitantes de toda la ciudad roza la pobreza, y por tanto, la exclusión social, en datos de la consultora AIS Group. “El gobierno municipal no está apoyando a estas familias con menores a su cargo, familias que después de la crisis, apenas alcanzan a cubrir sus necesidades básicas, y ni siquiera está garantizando la cobertura de suministros mínimos vitales, como el agua y la luz”, ante lo cual se ha preguntado “cómo están viviendo estos niños y niñas”.

Igualmente, ha avanzado que adoptará medidas desde el Ayuntamiento para que líderes vecinales y de colectivos actúen como agentes sociales y se impliquen en la mejora de sus barrios. “Y, de manera urgente, hay que poner en marcha medidas destinadas a estas personas que perdieron su empleo y que no encuentran la forma de regresar el mercado laboral”, ha puesto de relieve la candidata socialista.
Según Adriana Valverde, “los años de mandatos del PP han supuesto un duro castigo para estos trabajadores y trabajadoras porque no han encontrado el apoyo de su ayuntamiento, con planes de empleo municipales que dieran salida a sus perfiles laborales”. Por eso, ha anunciado la puesta en marcha de talleres y planes de empleo para desempleados en los barrios más castigados por la crisis, así como programas de formación para la inclusión en locales municipales, que les capaciten en nuevas tecnologías e idiomas, y que hagan posible su reciclaje profesional.

Y, por último, ha indicado que “para lograr todo esto, los almerienses necesitamos contar con una red de servicios sociales de calidad, que significa destinar a los servicios sociales al menos 100 euros por habitante/año o dedicar el 10% del presupuesto municipal a este apartado”. Esto va a permitir, según la futura alcaldesa, extender y reforzar la Red de Servicios Sociales, tanto en número de centros como en prestaciones, y también personalizar y zonificar las políticas sociales para hacerlas más efectivas y equitativas.
En definitiva, Adriana Valverde ha expresado a los almerienses el “compromiso con su bienestar, en todos aquellos aspectos de su vida que tienen que ver con la calidad de vida y el equilibrio entre barrios y colectivos sociales” y ha afirmado que “combatir la pobreza y conseguir unos servicios sociales de calidad, son y serán objetivos prioritarios para el Ayuntamiento del cambio que ya ha comenzado a caminar con mi candidatura a la Alcaldía de Almería”.
