Al igual que el archipiélago de las islas canarias, las islas Azores son de origen volcánico y pertenecen a la Macaronesia, término geológico que se le proporciona a esta región del Atlántico.

No obstante, las mejores y más grandes para visitar son: Sao Miguel y la Terceira.
Sao Miguel
Si no sabes que ver en San Miguel, esta isla esconde innumerable paisajes volcánicos y cráteres que conocer, lo más espectacular puede ser el pueblecito de Sete Cidades, ubicado en el foco de un cráter volcánico no activo, el cual ha formado 4 calderas o lagunas, sin duda, un paisaje que merece la pena conocer.

Si no saber que ver en Terceira, esta isla azoreña es la segunda más grande en extensión y tamaño. No obstante, en tan solo unos 2 horas y media en coche podrás recorrerla.
Adicionalmente, fue nombrada como “Terceira” ya fue la tercera en descubrirse. Sus principales atracciones son el mirador de la Sierra de Cume, su Capital, Angra do Heroismo con todas sus iglesias para visitar.
