En su quinta comparecencia en sede parlamentaria para informar de la evolución de la pandemia, el consejero ha resaltado que Andalucía es la tercera comunidad autónoma con menor incidencia acumulada (casos acumulados por 100.000 habitantes) en los últimos 14 días. En total, los casos confirmados y los positivos representan el 5,6% sobre el total de casos de España. En la comunidad andaluza, finalmente, se ha producido un mayor número de personas curadas que nuevos casos confirmados.

En cuanto al número de fallecidos en este sector de la población, el consejero ha confirmado que a fecha 24 de abril son 406 personas en residencias de mayores y 20 en otros centros sociosanitarios. Así lo ha señalado Jesús Aguirre en el Parlamento, donde ha recordado que “estamos realizando más de 100.000 test al personal, incluyendo a todos los trabajadores de un centro sanitario (vigilantes, trabajadores de limpieza, etc.)”.
