Equinac es la ONG autorizada por Dirección General de Sostenibilidad de la Costa y del Mar del Ministerio de Transición Ecológica para atender los varamientos de tortugas marinas y cetáceos en el litoral de la provincia de Almería que cuenta con más de quince años de experiencia velando por la conservación de la fauna marina.
El pasado día 12, el Centro Operativo de Comunicaciones (C.O.C.) del 062, activaba a una patrulla de la comandancia de Almería al producirse el varamiento de un delfín en el puerto de Aguadulce.

Consejos ante varamientos de animales marinos en la playa:
Con objeto de evitar mayor sufrimiento a los animales y en su caso posibilitar su recuperación y devolución al medio marino, desde Equinac y Guardia Civil de Almería se facilitan los siguientes consejos que son de gran importancia en todos los casos:
- Cuando un cetáceo vara es porque tiene un problema, igualmente ocurre con una tortuga marina. Si lo reintroduces y lo manipulas sin autorización, aparte de incurrir incluso en una infracción administrativa, evitarás que sea atendido por personal especializado.
- Los cetáceos y tortugas marinas están altamente protegidos. No se les puede dañar, molestar, perseguir, manipular, ni reintroducir sin autorización expresa de la administración competente. En el caso de Almería, es Equinac la entidad autorizada para ello por el Ministerio de Transición Ecológica.
- En caso de varamiento contactar con 112 o 062 lo más rápido posible.
- No reintroducir a los animales, ya que se pueden causar lesiones de mayor entidad.
