En el mismo, se recoge la necesidad de poner en marcha un plan de apoyo “con medidas reales" que permitan la supervivencia de los empleos y las empresas. Así proponen desde la aplicación de ayudas directas, a fondo perdido, así como de fondos europeos. Diego García ha recordado la potencia que tiene el sector de la hostelería en España con más de 300 mil establecimientos que dan trabajo a 1,7 millones de personas, con un volumen de ventas de 123.612 millones de euros y que aporta un 6,2% al PIB de la economía. “Salvar el sector es salvar el empleo de muchas personas tanto de forma directa como indirecta por lo que las administraciones deben tomar muy en serio nuestro papel y promover medidas que sean eficaces para evitar la destrucción de empresas”.
