Este acuerdo viene a refrendar la colaboración preexistente entre el Ayuntamiento de Adra y la Asociación El Timón, que disfrutaron juntos de una jornada virtual sobre salud mental el pasado mes de noviembre, bajo el título “Uniendo alianzas en salud mental, experiencia en el municipio de Adra”. En el encuentro se presentó el programa de intervención en la comunidad que el Consistorio y la entidad habían puesto en marcha recientemente.

FEAFES Andalucía Salud Mental (Federación Andaluza de Familiares y Personas con Problemas de Salud Mental), es una entidad sin ánimo de lucro que agrupa a 17 asociaciones en todo el territorio andaluz; se constituyó en el año 1992 con el objetivo contribuir a la recuperación y mejorar la calidad de vida y defender los derechos de las personas afectadas por un problema de salud mental y a sus familias. Además, FEAFES lucha por la creación de los servicios necesarios para conseguir una adecuada atención sanitaria y social, la adopción de las medidas oportunas para defender los derechos de las personas afectadas con problemas de salud mental y los de sus familias, exponiendo, denunciando y reivindicando mejoras en la atención, la rehabilitación, la integración y la inserción laboral para alcanzar la plena ciudadanía en igualdad de oportunidades con el resto de miembros de la sociedad. Entre otras labores, esta Asociación trabaja también para favorecer y promover el intercambio de información y experiencias entre las asociaciones, en los aspectos sanitarios, sociales y legales en la atención a las personas con enfermedad mental y sus familiares, además de sensibilizar a la sociedad para una mejor aceptación de las personas afectadas con problemas de salud mental, promoviendo una imagen más positiva, organizando actividades y servicios de tipo informativo, social, educativo, cultural y asistencial.
