La Consejería de Fomento, Infraestructuras y Ordenación del Territorio afrontará la reparación integral del firme de once kilómetros de la carretera Huércal Overa-Baza (A-334) en la provincia de Almería. De esta manera, se actuará en un tramo “que no se había actuado, salvo medidas puntuales desde su puesta en servicio hace 30 años”, según ha detallado la delegada territorial de Fomento en Almería, Eloísa Cabrera.
Estas obras de seguridad vial se han licitado hoy con un presupuesto de más de un millón de euros (1.096.848 euros) financiados por los fondos europeos Feder y se ejecutará en un tramo que atraviesa los términos municipales de Purchena, Olula del Río y Fines, en la comarca del Valle del Almanzora. Las empresas interesadas tienen hasta el 5 de mayo para presentar ofertas.

Este tramo de la carretera A-334, que va desde la variante de Purchena, en el punto kilométrico 48+100, y el inicio de su conversión de carretera convencional a la Autovía del Almanzora, ya en el kilómetro 59+500, se puso en servicio en los años 90 y, desde entonces, sólo se han realizado actuaciones paliativas, pero ninguna actuación integral en materia de conservación.

Como consecuencia de esta situación, este tramo presenta un severo agotamiento de la capacidad estructural del firme, que carece de un coeficiente de rozamiento transversal (CRT) que cumpla con lo prescrito en la normativa vigente. A ese déficit se suma el importante tráfico que soporta, con cerca de 12.000 vehículos al día, de los que en torno a un cinco por ciento son camiones o tráfico pesado.
