En abril, el paro aumentó en Almería en 2.210 personas respecto al mes de marzo. Esta cifra supone un aumento del 3,12 %, situando el total de parados en la provincia en 73.132 personas.
En la comparación con el mes de abril de 2020, primer mes que transcurrió íntegramente bajo la vigencia del estado de alarma decretado por la pandemia, el desempleo se incrementó el mes pasado en 3.699 personas, un 5,33% más.
En la serie histórica del mes de abril, la cifra total de parados de 73.132 se sitúa a medio camino entre la registrada en abril de 2016 (71.371) y abril de 2015 (77.761).
Distribución por sexos, edad y nacionalidad
Por sexos, el paro masculino se situó en abril en 30.763 hombres en paro (42%), mientras que el total de mujeres desempleadas fue de 42.369 (58%).
Por edades, la cifra del paro juvenil, es decir, de menores de 25 años, es de 6.582 parados. Entre los mayores de 25 años el número de desempleados es de 66.550.
Del total de desempleados, 17.642 son ciudadanos extranjeros.

Por sectores de actividad, el incremento más importante del desempleo cuantitativamente se produjo en el sector servicios con 1.616 parados más, seguido de la agricultura, con 536. El incremento fue más moderado en el colectivo sin empleo anterior, con 93 parados más.
En la construcción se registró el mes pasado un descenso, con -32 parados menos, bajada que también se produjo en el sector industrial, con -3 desempleados menos.
En abril, en la provincia de Almería el número de parados en el sector servicios fue de 47.076, en la agricultura de 10.422, en el colectivo sin empleo anterior de 7.073, en la construcción de 6.071 y en la industria de 2.490.

En abril, el total de contratos suscritos en el mes en la provincia fue de 23.611, lo que suponen -3.986 contratos menos que en el mes anterior, un -14,44%.
En términos interanuales, respecto a abril de 2020, la contratación aumentó en 8.273 contratos, un 53,94% más.
De los contratos registrados en el mes de abril, 21.175 fueron contratos temporales y 2.436 contratos indefinidos.
Según el sector de actividad económica, en el sector servicios se suscribieron 13.050 contratos, en la agricultura 8.041, en la construcción 1.517 y en la industria 1.003.
Del total de contratos suscritos, 8.479 lo fueron a ciudadanos extranjeros.
Según los datos de contratación acumulados, en lo que va de año se han suscrito en Almería 90.080 contratos de los que el 12,29% fueron indefinidos (11.067) y el 87,71% fueron contratos temporales (79.013).

Según los datos publicados en el día de hoy por el Ministerio de Trabajo y Economía Social correspondientes al mes de marzo, el gasto en prestaciones por desempleo fue en dicho mes de 35,2 millones de euros.
Por su parte, la cifra de beneficiarios fue de 38.789. De estos, 16.409 fueron perceptores de prestación contributiva por desempleo, 17.204 de subsidio por desempleo, 3.160 de la renta activa de inserción y 2.016 del subsidio para eventuales agrarios.
De la total de beneficiaros por prestaciones por desempleo, 9.508 son ciudadanos extranjeros (2.971 de países comunitarios y 6.537 de países no comunitarios).
En marzo, el plazo de reconocimiento del derecho a la protección por desempleo se ha situado en Almería en 4,50 días. La cuantía media de la prestación contributiva percibida por beneficiario durante el mes de febrero fue de 830 euros.

Durante el mes de abril, la afiliación media a la Seguridad Social en Almería fue de 300.938 afiliados, lo que supone un descenso respecto a marzo de -2.779 afiliados, un -0,92% menos.
El descenso se concentra en el Régimen General (-3.113). En el Régimen Especial de Trabajadores del Mar (141) y en el Régimen de Trabajadores Autónomos (193) hay un incremento.
En términos interanuales, la afiliación media se incrementa en 12.815 personas, un 4,45% más, respecto a la registrada en abril de 2020.
En la actualidad, en Almería se encuentran afiliados en el Régimen General de la Seguridad Social 239.051 trabajadores, en el Régimen Especial de Trabajadores Autónomos (RETA) 61.046, y en el Régimen Especial de Trabajadores del Mar, 841.
Del total de afiliados medios al Régimen General (239.051), 53.728 trabajadores se encuentra incluidos en el Sistema Especial Agrario y 2.565 en el Sistema Especial de Trabajadores del Hogar.
