En la jornada, expertos del sector portuario, del transporte marítimo y terrestre, de la logística y la exportación, han analizado los servicios actuales del Puerto de Almería con el norte de África, así como las oportunidades de la dársena almeriense para el establecimiento de líneas marítimas con puertos europeos.
Acompañada en la apertura de este acto del presidente de la Autoridad Portuaria, Jesús Caicedo, la concejala de Presidencia del Ayuntamiento de Almería ha subrayado que “el transporte marítimo de corta distancia empieza a ser algo más que una mera alternativa teórica”. Apoyada en los datos de la Dirección General de Transportes y Energía de la Comisión Europea, ha querido reseñar como a través de esta modalidad se realizan, aproximadamente, el 30% de los intercambios de mercancías y todo apunta a que este porcentaje se incremente en los próximos años.
