Este estudio ha sido dirigido por el doctor en Psicología y director de la revista científica 'Análisis y Modificación de Conducta', Francisco Revuelta Pérez, en colaboración con el catedrático de Psicología Clínica de la Universidad de La Laguna, Wenceslao Peñate Castro; el profesor de Psicología Clínica de la Universidad de Sevilla, Luis Rodríguez Franco, y la profesora de Psicología Social, Evolutiva y de la Educación de la Universidad de Huelva, Luisa Rodríguez Fernández.
Depresión
Los resultados del informe detallan que se han detectado niveles elevados de ansiedad, depresión y estrés que sobrepasan los propios de las circunstancias previas a la pandemia. En concreto, el porcentaje de personas que presentan algún grado de ansiedad es del 38,78%; de depresión, un 37,1%, y de estrés, un 34,44%.

Una cuestión interesante en estas tres variables es que se han producido tres agrupamientos provinciales: en Almería y Huelva los niveles han sido más bajos; Jaén y Cádiz se han situado en un nivel intermedio; mientras que Málaga, Sevilla, Córdoba y Granada han alcanzado de continuo los valores más altos.
Las puntuaciones medias por provincia en depresión han oscilado desde 2,19, en Almería, a 5,60, en Granada. Clasifi cando los valores encontrados en cinco niveles (normal, leve, moderado, grave y muy grave), como era de esperar, la mayor frecuencia y porcentaje de casos en el nivel normal se encuentra en Almería (85,3 %) y, donde menos, en Granada (50,6 %). En cuanto al número de personas que se ubican en el grado muy grave, el menor número de casos también aparece en Almería (0,9 %) y, donde más, en Córdoba (9,0 %) (tablas 1.6 y 1.7 y fi guras 1.7 y 1.8). Para que pueda apreciarse mejor la incidencia de depresión, en la fi gura 1.9 se han eliminado los considerados normales.

Aunque no existen diferencias estadísticamente significativas por sexo ni por grupos de edad, los mayores de 75 años son los que obtienen unos niveles más altos en estas tres variables.
Ansiedad y estrés
Por lo que respecta a la situación por provincia, la puntuación media más baja de ansiedad sea dado en Almería (M = 2,22), mientras que la más alta en Granada (M = 4,84). Asignadas las diferentes puntuaciones por niveles, estas dos provincias vuelven a situarse con los valores más extremos, la primera de ellas es donde aparecen mayor porcentaje de casos ubicados en el nivel de normal (78,4 %) y, la segunda, donde menos (48,7 %). Además, Granada es la provincia que presenta el mayor número de casos muy graves (17,2 %) y la de Almería, es la de menor incidencia (4,6 %).

Dado lo anterior, no es de extrañar que un 53,94% de la muestra total estudiada manifieste que se siente con un mayor malestar psicológico general en el momento de la entrevista, en relación con antes de que se produjera la pandemia. Respecto al estrés, por provincia, Almería es la provincia donde la media es menor (M = 4,29) y Granada donde es la mayor (M = 7,12). Por niveles de gravedad, de nuevo Almería se sitúa con la cifra más elevada de personas que entran en la categoría de normal (79,3 %) y Granada la más baja (54,9 %). Asimismo, la primera de las citadas recoge el menor número de casos en el nivel de muy grave (1,7 %) y Sevilla el mayor (4,0 %); estando Cádiz y Jaén muy cercanas, ambas con un 3,9 %.
Autopercepción
Pero si Almería presenta en esos buenos datos, resulta que cuando la pregunta es sobre el malestar psicológico autopercibido, las cosas dan un giro de 180 grados. En cuanto a la situación por provincia, la que ha tenido una menor puntuación media ha sido Málaga, con 2,07, y la que más Almería, con 2,19. Habría dos provincias con los niveles subjetivos de malestar general más bajos (Málaga y Córdoba) y, otras dos, con las puntuaciones más altas (Jaén y Almería). El resto podrían estar tanto en un grupo como en otro. Se opta por dos grupos: el primero, que comprendería Málaga, Córdoba y Cádiz y, el segundo, por Sevilla, Huelva, Granada, Jaén y Almería.
Miedo a contagiarse y riesgo autopercibido de contagio

Ante la pregunta directa sobre el miedo al contagio, el 82,59% declara tener algún miedo a contagiarse. De ellos, el 39,91% manifiesta miedo en menor grado, frente al 25,72%, que manifiesta bastante y el 16,96%, mucho. En este aspecto, los especialistas insisten en que cierto grado de miedo hace más probable la adopción de comportamientos de salud recomendables, ya que se trata de un mecanismo protector ante determinadas situaciones.
De estos resultados, se han derivado tres agrupamientos provinciales: Almería y Huelva concentran a la población que manifiesta –en el momento de realización de la encuesta– menor miedo a contagiarse del coronavirus; Jaén, Cádiz y Sevilla se sitúan en un nivel intermedio, y Granada, Málaga y Córdoba, son las provincias donde se mostró más miedo.

Otra de las variables dentro del ámbito de la percepción personal ha sido la del riesgo de contagio autopercibido, esto es, la creencia individual que posee el individuo sobre su susceptibilidad a contagiarse de una enfermedad, en este caso, de Covid-19. En la muestra total, un 78,79% de los entrevistados se sitúa en el grupo de los que se autoconsideran en riesgo bajo de contagio, frente al 21,21% que se incluyen en el grupo de riesgo alto.

Entre los participantes en la muestra que tienen una relación de pareja, un 57,93% afirma que no se produjeron problemas durante la pandemia y el confinamiento. Entre los que dan una respuesta afirmativa, el 30,32% declara que los problemas fueron los habituales; un 7,97% tuvo problemas importantes, que fueron resolviendo; mientras que un 3,77% terminaron separándose, una tasa bastante alta según los autores del estudio.
En relación con el riesgo de suicidio, se ha detectado que el porcentaje es elevado situándose en el 15,19% de la muestra total, con un 1,1% de personas que habían llevado a cabo algún intento. Ante este grave problema de salud mental, los investigadores advierten en su informe que, aunque el riesgo suicida se va incrementando con la edad –a los 75 o más años llega al 18%–, resulta muy llamativo y preocupante que las tasas de personas jóvenes sean también elevadas.
