El anuncio de la salida a licitación, por parte del Ministerio de Transporte, Movilidad y Agenda Urbana (Mitma) del contrato de servicios pera la redacción del proyecto ‘ Mejora de la funcionalidad del enlace de Vícar con la A-7 (Autovía del Mediterráneo), entre los puntos kilométricos 424 y 428’, en el término municipal vicario, valorado en unos 9000.000 euros, supone para Vícar, según el alcalde “una gran noticia, pues la mejora de las conexiones de Vícar con las dos autovías era para nosotros una de nuestras principales aspiraciones”. Se trata de una actuación que solicitada en su día por el Ayuntamiento de Vícar, tras acuerdo plenario, y que el propio Antonio Bonilla, ha considerado “esencial para el municipio, dada su cada vez más elevada población, la centralidad que ocupa en la comarca y la movilidad del principal sistema productivo de la zona”.

Al respecto ha recordado que tras la construcción del Bulevar Ciudad de Vícar, hace más de una década los esfuerzos del Ayuntamiento han ido dirigidos a han mejorar los enlaces de éste con la Autovía del Mediterráneo, “al considerarla una actuación prioritaria para el desarrollo de la infraestructuras de comunicaciones viarias del municipio, sobre todo pensando en las necesidades que demanda el crecimiento y desarrollo del municipio, que a medio plazo espera alcanzar los 50.000 habitantes y que por tanto hace que sea imprescindible contar con las infraestructuras adecuadas”.

Unas gestiones que se intensificaron tras el cambio en la normativa de Carreteras de 2016, con varias solicitudes a las administraciones competentes, ante la necesidad urgente de mejorar los enlaces de la Autovía, en especial el PK-424 y la vía de conexión con el núcleo urbano de Venta Gutiérrez, debido a su peligrosidad, "y que permitiría mejorar el acceso de los ciudadanos a los distintos puntos de la localidad, modificando los flujos de tráfico actuales y reduciéndolos en los puntos críticos, obteniendo como resultado un funcionamiento más racional y mucho más seguro del tráfico de vehículos”, señala Antonio Bonilla.
