En la reunión con la alcaldesa de Níjar –municipio patrono de la Fundación-, también ha participado la segunda teniente de alcalde, Yolanda Lozano. En el encuentro se ha hablado del turismo de cruceros y de la repercusión que tienen las excursiones guiadas al municipio y al parque natural Cabo de Gata-Níjar, así como del Puerto Seco.
Fabio Laborda-Ortega ha brindado la “colaboración y el apoyo total” de la Fundación, junto con la Autoridad Portuaria, al proyecto del Puerto Seco, “por ser una infraestructura logística que colocará al municipio de Níjar como un nudo intermodal estratégico que generará una gran oportunidad de negocio entre las empresas logísticas y logrará una importante creación de puestos de trabajo en la provincia”.

En el encuentro con el alcalde de Carboneras, a la que también ha asistido Ramón Soto, concejal de Hacienda, Fabio Laborda-Ortega ha dado a conocer formalmente la FBA y ha propuesto la firma de un convenio de colaboración con el Ayuntamiento, con el fin de impulsar los servicios logísticos portuarios del Puerto de interés general de Carboneras y dinamizar las infraestructuras en el nuevo periodo de transición industrial que está viviendo el municipio de la mano de la sostenibilidad.

Uno de los principales objetivos del convenio de colaboración, según ha destacado el gerente de la FBA, es la promoción de las actuaciones encaminadas al desarrollo del Puerto de Carboneras, con la optimización de la gestión de la logística y el transporte, y con especial atención al fomento y promoción de los servicios logístico-portuarios. Asimismo, busca impulsar proyectos de I+D e Innovación sobre sostenibilidad ambiental, e incrementar la colaboración y coordinación con las instituciones públicas, facilitando la agilidad administrativa para mejorar las inversiones y la creación de empleo.

El convenio plantea también la colaboración de ambas partes para la captación de empresas para su instalación en los suelos industriales municipales del entorno del Puerto, así como coordinar el diseño de un acceso por carretera a las instalaciones del Puerto a través de un enlace directo desde la Autovía A-7.
En la reunión, en la que se ha hablado de la ampliación longitudinal de Paseo Marítimo como uno de los proyectos estrella para la integración del municipio con su Puerto, el alcalde ha mostrado interés en que el Ayuntamiento sea patrono de la Fundación para trabajar y desarrollar el convenio de colaboración.
