El próximo sábado, día 14, el municipio de Vícar acogerá la vigésimo tercera edición del Concurso Provincial de Problemas de Ingenio, Patrimonio Histórico y Matemáticas, que organiza la Sociedad Andaluza de Educación Matemática THALES de Almería y dirigido a todo el alumnado de 4º de Educación Secundaria Obligatoria de los centros educativos de la provincia. Alrededor de unos 130 alumnos y alumnas procedentes de distintos centros educativos de toda la provincia, junto a cuarenta profesores y una veintena de voluntarios, participaran en esta edición, cuya prueba individual se llevará a cabo en el IES La Puebla, a partir de las 10,30 horas.

Antonio Bonilla que dará la bienvenida a los jóvenes escolares y a sus profesores, ha mostrado su satisfacción por que la Ciudad Educadora de Vícar vuelva a ser sede de una actividad de la sociedad de educación matemática, dado que en 2016 acogió la fase provincias de la trigésimo segunda edición de la Olimpiada Matemática. "Para Vícar es un privilegio acoger esta actividad extraescolar, con la que se pretende dar a conocer, de forma singular, a través de las Matemáticas, el patrimonio artístico e histórico-cultural de nuestra provincia y en este caso de nuestro municipio”.

Los participantes han sido seleccionados previamente en una primera fase desarrollada en sus propios centros, que además han marcado el criterio de selección. Además d ela prueba individual, el concurso contará con una prueba por equipos que se desarrollará en la Villa de Vícar, a partir de las 12 de la mañana. Despuès los participantes regresarán al IES, donde se celebrará el almuerzo, así como tendrán lugar actividades de convivencia antes de la entrega de premios, a los diez primeros clasificados, y el regreso de vuelta a las localidades de procedencia, a partir de las 17 horas.
