Problemas administrativos en Camerún y otros coyunturales derivados del transporte marítimo, han retrasado la llegada de la madera y, por tanto, los trabajos de restauración, según recuerda el presidente de la Autoridad Portuaria de Almería, Jesús Caicedo. Con datos de finales de abril, el porcentaje de obra realizado es del 85%.
En estos días, además de la pavimentación, la UTE Seranco-Holstein está ultimando también la reparación de las cimentaciones de las pilas del Cargadero, unos trabajos complementarios de la restauración del Cable Inglés. Asimismo, se está ajardinando la zona de confluencia del cargadero con el parque de la Estación.

Las obras de la segunda fase de restauración del Cable Inglés las realiza la UTE ‘Puerto de Almería’ –integrada por las empresas Seranco SA, Acerouno Restauración Inteligente SC, y Halstein Integral de Obras y Servicios, SL-. De la dirección de las obras se encarga Ramón de Torres, arquitecto que redactó el proyecto de esta fase de restauración del Cable Inglés.

La restauración del Cable Inglés, que fue adjudicada por la Autoridad Portuaria de Almería por 2.115.000 euros, cuenta con la financiación procedente del 1,5% Cultural (de los ministerios de Cultura y de Transportes, Movilidad y Agenda Urbana).
