El municipio de Tíjola contará con una Ciudad Deportiva de carácter Comarcal gracias a la colaboración institucional entre Diputación, Ayuntamiento y la Junta de Andalucía. Además, cientos de vecinos se han dado cita en la inauguración de la Plaza del Grano con la actuación de las alumnas de la Escuela de Baile y el descubrimiento de la escultura en honor al Patrón del Municipio: San Sebastián.

La histórica jornada que vivió el municipio de Tíjola comenzó con la colocación de la primera piedra del futuro Complejo Deportivo Comarcal por parte del presidente de la Institución Provincial, Javier A. García, el alcalde, José Juan Martínez, y la delegada del Gobierno en funciones, Aránzazu Martín. Los tres estuvieron acompañados por los alcaldes, concejales, diputados provinciales y deportistas del municipio que fueron testigos del inicio de unas obras que suman una inversión de 3,3 millones de euros.
En concreto, esta actuación, que tiene un plazo de ejecución de 12 meses y será una realidad el próximo verano, consta de dos actuaciones: por un lado, la construcción de un campo de Fútbol de Césped Artificial, con sus correspondientes vestuarios y gradas; así como unas pistas deportivas y la urbanización del entorno con zonas verdes, itinerarios peatonales y aparcamientos.

Además, con una aportación de Diputación de 1,2 millones de euros, “este complejo será un referente y recibirá a miles de vecinos de los municipios de la comarca que contarán con una Ciudad Deportiva Moderna y Adaptada a sus necesidades”, ha indicado Javier A. García.
Por último, Javier A. García ha puesto en valor la colaboración institucional para lograr que los vecinos de los 103 municipios puedan tener “las mismas oportunidades, servicios e infraestructuras vivan donde vivan”.

Martín ha explicado que "el Gobierno andaluz va a invertir cerca de 750.000 euros en estas nuevas instalaciones deportivas que serán un antes y después y que podrán disfrutar todos los amantes del deporte en diferentes disciplinas".
Ha añadido que "apostar por una vida saludable y por la práctica del deporte es un objetivo de la Junta de Andalucía y para que pueda ser real se necesita de infraestructuras que faciliten la práctica deportiva. Este nuevo espacio contará con todas las herramientas para que Tíjola esté a la vanguardia del deporte en la Comarca del Almanzora".
