Cruz Roja Española en Almería celebra un gran acto homenaje para reconocer la labor del voluntariado, instituciones y empresas durante la pandemia. Un evento creado para dar las GRACIAS con mayúsculas a quienes han dado lo mejor a través del Plan Cruz Roja Responde para atender la situación de emergencia extraordinaria provocada por la Covid-19.
El acto contó con el presidente provincial del Cruz Roja, Antonio Alastrué, la alcaldesa de Almería, María del Mar Vázquez, el presidente de Diputación, Javier Aureliano García, el delegado de Inclusión Social, Francisco González, el delegado de Salud, Juan de la Cruz, el subdelegado del Gobierno, José María Martín y la teniente de la Brigada de La Legión, Esther Gómez. Y es que estas son las instituciones que han recibido un reconocimiento por su implicación en el Plan Cruz Roja Responde.

El acto se celebra en este momento porque, según ha explicado el presidente provincial de Cruz Roja, Antonio Alastrue, “ha pasado el tiempo suficiente para poder contemplar lo vivido con cierta perspectiva y ser plenamente conscientes del enorme impacto que ha tenido en la población la pandemia. Queríamos poner en valor la unión de todas las personas, administraciones y empresas para alcanzar el objetivo común de ayudar a quienes más nos han necesitado”.

Tras decretarse el estado de alarma y el confinamiento, se vivieron unos primeros momentos de desconcierto generalizado. Pero inmediatamente se reaccionó, las ADMINISTRACIONES solicitaron la colaboración de Cruz Roja y la respuesta de la institución fue rápida y efectiva participando en el apoyo articulado a través de todas las mesas de coordinación establecidas, algo que nunca antes se había materializado. Esta coordinación en el trabajo fue esencial para atender y dar las respuestas que la sociedad esperaba en una situación tan complicada y extraordinaria como la pandemia. Por eso, hoy Cruz Roja quiere distinguir y honrar la labor de las instituciones y administraciones durante la pandemia.

En su intervención la alcaldesa de Almería, María del Mar Vázquez, ha puesto en valor “estos reconocimientos de Cruz Roja porque son también una manera de recordarnos que el agradecimiento nos hace mejores a todos. Y también es un homenaje a la increíble reacción de entereza y coraje que dimos todos los almerienses en una de las situaciones más difíciles que nos ha tocado vivir. Almería es una gran ciudad con una sociedad viva y fuerte, que no quiere olvidar el trabajo de los sanitarios, de los voluntarios, de las fuerzas y cuerpos de seguridad, el de los transportistas, los comerciantes, los equipos de desinfección y el de tantos otros. No olvidemos nunca lo sucedido en esos largos meses en los que TODOS debimos TODO a unos pocos”.

El delegado de Integración Social, Juventud, Familias e Igualdad, Francisco González Bellido, ha sido uno de los reconocidos en esta celebración de Cruz Roja, poniendo de manifiesto el trabajo que ha hecho esta delegación durante la pandemia, en la que tantas personas vieron afectadas su situación personal, familiar y laboral. González Bellido ha explicado que “los servicios sociales fueron muy importantes para sacar adelante a muchas familias que se quedaron a penas sin nada. Desde la Junta de Andalucía hicimos una apuesta muy importante por las tarjetas monedero y contamos con la ayuda de Cruz Roja para hacerlas llegar a quienes más lo necesitan. Hay que recordar que desde que se puso en marcha este programa en Almería se han atendido a 4.433 familias, lo que ha supuesto más de 15.000 recargas”. El delegado de Integración Social ha añadido que “esta situación para la Junta de Andalucía es una prioridad, porque tenemos claro que en estos cuatro años vamos a seguir trabajando para ayudar a quien más lo necesite”.

La delegación de Salud, los distritos sanitarios y hospitales recibieron una mención especial en este homenaje. El delegado territorial de Salud y Consumo de la Junta de Andalucía, Juan de la Cruz Belmonte, ha manifestado su agradecimiento a Cruz Roja "por el reconocimiento que tanto honra a la institución que represento". "Aunque hoy sea yo físicamente quien recibe esta distinción, la recojo en nombre todos y cada uno de los profesionales que tuvimos que hacer frente a las difíciles situaciones a las que nos sometió la pandemia del COVID-19". Belmonte ha considerado "esencial" y "ejemplar" la labor realizada por Cruz Roja a través del 'Plan Responde' logrando aglutinar esfuerzos para poder llegar a los colectivos más vulnerables".

Subdelegación del Gobierno
Al recibir su distinción José María Martín, subdelegado del Gobierno, señaló que "el ámbito de cooperación y colaboración que mantenemos a nivel institucional entre Subdelegación y Cruz Roja es muy amplio y se ha estrechado a lo largo de estos últimos años y meses en los que hemos atravesado situaciones de enorme complejidad. Me refiero, obviamente, a la pandemia, pero también a la situación derivada por la invasión de Putin en Ucrania y la llegada a Almería, en aquellos primeros compases de la guerra durante la pasada primavera, de miles de personas que buscaban en esta tierra un refugio seguro. La ayuda de Cruz Roja fue fundamental e imprescindible para que estas personas se sintieran protegidas y amparadas".

Reconocimiento a la entrega del voluntariado
El pilar de Cruz Roja es la completa entrega del personal y del voluntariado que, aunque siempre han sido el músculo de la organización, desde el comienzo de la pandemia se han convertido en su fuerza principal. También se ha reconocido al voluntariado de Cruz Roja de la Asamblea Comarcal Almanzora, Asambleas locales de Adra, El Ejido, Roquetas de Mar, Vera, Pulpí y Mojácar ya que, como ha dicho el presidente provincial de Cruz Roja, “podemos dar respuestas dónde y cuándo más se nos necesita, gracias a la impresionante capilaridad territorial de Cruz Roja penetramos en espacios y escenarios de difícil acceso y escasos recursos. Las asambleas locales hacen esta institución fuerte y con grandes capacidades de acción solidaria en 64 municipios almerienses”.

En marzo de 2020 comenzó la crisis, un momento histórico mundial porque nunca la sociedad actual se había enfrentado a una pandemia de tal envergadura. Cruz Roja se puso en marcha intentando poner orden en el caos que provocó la emergencia sanitaria. La respuesta de la institución fue el llamado PLAN CRUZ ROJA RESPONDE, un plan como su nombre indica, concebido para dar respuestas de manera inmediata a la población. Fue un reto que Cruz Roja afrontó con esa gran capacidad de conocimiento y adaptación demostrada a lo largo de su historia. Y fueron miles de intervenciones, de horas trabajadas, llamadas atendidas, respuestas facilitadas, kilómetros recorridos… y todo ha sido posible gracias a la generosidad, el compromiso de quienes integran Cruz Roja, el equipo técnico y sobre todo el voluntariado de toda la provincia.

A lo largo de 2020 Cruz Roja atendió a un total de 110.326 personas en un año protagonizado por la pandemia de la Covid-19. Inevitablemente el balance del año, como ha explicado el presidente provincial de Cruz Roja en Almería, Antonio Alastrué, se centra en la situación de emergencia provocada por el Coronavirus. Ello requirió una respuesta sin precedentes y se puso en marcha el Plan CRUZ ROJA RESPONDE frente a la COVID-19, tras la declaración del Estado de Alarma, convirtiéndose en la mayor operación de la historia de Cruz Roja en cuanto a la movilización de recursos, capacidades y personas.

“De manera rápida y en tiempo real tuvimos que dar respuesta al enorme incremento de las demandas de ayuda multiplicando nuestra intervención para hacer frente a la crisis sanitaria, social y económica generada por la pandemia”, reconoce Alastrué. Esa movilización, en un tiempo récord, permitió a la institución estar activa desde el minuto cero, una situación que sigue manteniendo. Con el Plan Cruz Roja Responde se atendió en la emergencia a más de 32.000 personas y se dieron 300.000 respuestas en toda la provincia.
