El ‘Centro Jovellanos’ imparte un curso teórico y práctico a trabajadores de la Autoridad Portuaria
Treinta y dos trabajadores de la Autoridad Portuaria de Almería (APA) han asistido en el Puerto de la capital a un curso de lucha contra la contaminación marina accidental que ha organizado la APA. El objetivo de los cursos es adquirir conocimientos sobre los sistemas de prevención, contención y recogida de derrames de productos contaminantes, conocer los equipos necesarios para la actuación, su mantenimiento y reparación, y así poder dar una respuesta correcta ante sucesos de contaminación marina, y atención a la estructura básica establecida en los planes interiores de contingencias.
Con el título ‘Prevención y lucha contra la contaminación, nivel operativo básico’, los cursos –que se han celebrado dos sesiones formativas- han sido impartidos por Carlos Fernández Mayo y Graciela González, técnicos del Centro de Seguridad Marítima Integral ‘Jovellanos’, de Salvamento Marítimo, en Gijón. Homologados por la dirección general de la Marina Mercante y con una duración de veinte horas lectivas, los cursos se han desarrollado a lo largo de tres jornadas cada uno, con contenidos teóricos y sendas demostraciones prácticas en la dársena del Puerto.

La parte práctica ha consistido en un simulacro con el despliegue de unas barreras de 200 metros de longitud alrededor de un remolcador de la Corporación Marítima Boluda, amarrado en el Muelle de Poniente. Asimismo, se ha llevado a cabo la recogida y remolque de barreras y cercos, se han realizado demostraciones de sistemas de fondeo de barreras y de fijación a los atraques mediante compensadores de mareas, y se ha practicado también el montaje y desmontaje de tanques portátiles, tipo ‘fast tank’.
