Rafa Burgos ha enumerado una serie de ejemplos para hacer patente dicho “maltrato”, especialmente con el principal monumento de Almería. “De un tiempo a esta parte, hemos visto en la Alcazaba todo tipo de despropósitos: el acero corten, el taladrazo, incumplimientos constantes con los planes de iluminación, la ausencia de un plan director, la negativa a mejorar el modelo de gestión con un Patronato o similar, la orfandad de los torreones de Pescadería, o el ninguneo a las canteras califales”, ha señalado el concejal, recordando, al mismo tiempo, que desde Ciudadanos “impulsamos en 2016 una moción que se aprobó por unanimidad y que aún no se ha cumplido” instando a modificar el modelo de gestión de la Alcazaba. “También llevamos otra moción en 2020 exigiendo actuaciones en la muralla, cosa que reconocemos que se está haciendo, si bien seguimos esperando que se retire el acero corten de una vez, pues se colocó como medida provisional en 2011, y doce años después, ahí sigue”, ha aseverado.

Si hay un ejemplo “palmario” para el concejal de Ciudadanos del maltrato que sufre el patrimonio histórico almeriense, además de la Alcazaba, es la antigua estación de tren. “Manda pantalones que llevemos desde 1985 para declarar este edificio único como Bien de Interés Cultural, que lleve cerrado al público desde 2005, que haya estado convertido en un palomar durante 15 años, y que hoy sigamos sin conocer qué uso futuro tendrá”, ha lamentado, al tiempo que ha recordado la moción que su partido llevó al Ayuntamiento en marzo de 2021 para instar a las administraciones a “cerrar de una vez por todas” el expediente para declararlo como BIC, y para realizar una consulta ciudadana y dar voz a los almerienses para decidir ese uso futuro.
