La portavoz del PSOE en el Ayuntamiento de Almería, Adriana Valverde, ha realizado una visita a la zona de la Plaza del Mar de El Toyo y ha denunciado "el estado deplorable en que se encuentra una de sus principales atracciones, el lago artificial que permanece desde hace meses a medio vaciar convertido en una balsa de aguas putrefactas y malolientes".
Valverde ha criticado "la desidia del Gobierno municipal del PP con una zona que debería ser una fiesta para los sentidos, para cualquier persona que pasee por la Plaza del Mar y en un año en el que por primera vez dos de los grandes hoteles que se construyeron en El Toyo, con motivo de los Juegos Mediterráneos, han abierto durante toda la Navidad".

Al respecto, Valverde ha querido hacer hincapié en la "hipocresía" del PP al frente del Ayuntamiento de Almería. "Por un lado, la alcaldesa anuncia grandes inversiones para promover que nos visiten más turistas pero, por el otro, tiene sumidas en el más absoluto de los abandonos las zonas turísticas de la ciudad", ha remarcado.

Por último, ha asegurado que "desde el PSOE no vamos a permitir que este enclave tan singular, en una zona en expansión de nuestra ciudad, siga en ese estado de abandono". Así, ha expresado su compromiso de “trabajar para revitalizar todo el entorno de la Plaza del Mar y el Paseo Marítimo de El Toyo para trasladar la mejor imagen a quienes nos visitan, pero también a los almerienses, que no merecen que su Ayuntamiento deje en el olvido espacios con tantas posibilidades y donde, además, se han invertido grandes cantidades de dinero público para hacer de esta zona un referente del turismo de calidad".
