Tras el escándalo por la presunta compra de voto por correo que ha sido noticia en los últimos deías de la campaña electora, los vecinos de Mojácar han decido dar su respaldo mayoritario al PP, frente al PSOE; cuyo número 2 y 5 de la lista estuvieron detenidos por estos hechos.

Así el PP ha obtenido 8 concejales frente a 5 socialistas, que es lo que ya había, por lo que no ha pasado factura al PSOE el escándalo. En porcentaje de voto, el PP ha obtenido más del 60%. A última hora el PP solo necesitaba 30 votos para lograr otro edil, por lo que en ese caso sí se habría detectado un reforzamiento mayor, ya que pasarían a ser 9 a 4.
