La ola de calor que afecta a gran parte de España desde este lunes ha puesto en alerta a más de 30 provincias, entre ellas Almería, donde se espera que las temperaturas superen los 35ºC durante el día y no bajen de los 25ºC por la noche. Según la Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET), el riesgo por altas temperaturas es amarillo en Almería, aunque podría aumentar en los próximos días si se mantiene la masa de aire sahariana que ha llegado al país.
Las provincias más afectadas por la ola de calor son Córdoba y Jaén, donde se ha activado el aviso rojo por riesgo extremo, con máximas de 45ºC. También hay alerta naranja en otras zonas de Andalucía, como Cádiz, Granada, Málaga y Sevilla, así como en Baleares, Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura y Madrid. El resto de provincias están en alerta amarilla, salvo el extremo norte y el Levante.

La AEMET ha indicado que este lunes y martes serán los días más calurosos del episodio, que podría prolongarse hasta el jueves. El miércoles se espera un descenso de las temperaturas en el norte y el centro peninsular, así como en Baleares, pero seguirán subiendo en el sureste, donde podrían alcanzar los 42-44ºC¹[1]. En Canarias también se prevé un aumento progresivo del calor debido al aire sahariano.

La ola de calor supone un riesgo para la salud de las personas, especialmente para los grupos más vulnerables como los niños, los ancianos y los enfermos crónicos.
