El ministro de la Presidencia en funciones, Félix Bolaños, ha visitado hoy las obras de la línea de alta velocidad Murcia-Almería, que se encuentran ya al 50% de ejecución. Bolaños ha destacado el compromiso del Gobierno con el Corredor Mediterráneo y las ventajas que supondrá para la provincia de Almería, que podrá conectar con Madrid y con Francia por tren rápido.

Las obras del AVE Almería han recibido un fuerte impulso en los últimos años, con una inversión de más de 1.300 millones de euros, que representa más de un tercio del presupuesto total. Se prevé que la plataforma de alta velocidad esté terminada a finales de 2024 y que el servicio entre en funcionamiento en 2026.
Además, el Gobierno ha contratado recientemente las obras del soterramiento del AVE en Almería por 165 millones de euros, lo que permitirá mejorar la integración urbana y la accesibilidad de la ciudad.

Bolaños ha visitado el tramo Pulpí-Vera, donde se construye la estación de viajeros Vera-Almanzora, y ha agradecido el trabajo del personal de Adif. El ministro ha asegurado que el AVE Almería va “a toda velocidad” y que se están cumpliendo los plazos previstos.
El ministro ha resaltado también el apoyo económico del Gobierno al Corredor Mediterráneo, que ha movilizado inversiones por encima de los 2.200 millones de euros. El Corredor Mediterráneo es una infraestructura estratégica para el desarrollo económico y social de España y Europa, que conectará los principales puertos, ciudades y regiones del litoral mediterráneo.

Bolaños ha aprovechado también para referirse a los datos de la EPA que se conocieron ayer, que muestran un aumento del empleo en Almería, con 310.000 personas ocupadas, solo superadas por el primer trimestre de este año. Ha afirmado que estos datos son extraordinariamente positivos y que demuestran la capacidad del gobierno de crear empleo con derechos. Ha reiterado el compromiso del gobierno con Almería y con Andalucía, donde nunca se había producido una inversión tan importante como la que está llevando a cabo el ejecutivo de Sánchez.

Por último, el ministro ha abordado el tema del agua y ha asegurado que el gobierno garantiza que haya agua de boca y agua de riego para todos los ciudadanos. Ha señalado que en Almería hay tres desaladoras funcionando y que se va a iniciar la reparación y adecuación de la cuarta, la de Cuevas de Almanzora. Además, ha anunciado que se han aprobado dos nuevas desaladoras para la zona. Ha defendido la apuesta del gobierno por dotar a Almería de recursos hídricos frente a la sequía crónica y ha criticado la falta de inversión de gobiernos anteriores.
