El presidente de la Diputación de Almería, Javier A. García, y el alcalde virgitano, José Carlos Lupión, han inaugurado hoy este nuevo espacio para el ocio y la diversión de los más pequeños. El parque está coronado por una gran torre minera de nueve metros de altura con seis plantas de juegos y otros atractivos como una locomotora de madera, un carromato o una vagoneta
Los más pequeños de Berja son hoy los niños más felices de la provincia de Almería porque han estrenado el Parque de La Alpujarra, una zona para el ocio familiar con juegos que evocan el pasado minero del municipio gracias a un proyecto de acondicionamiento impulsado por la Diputación Provincial de Almería con una inversión cercana a los 400.000 euros.

El presidente de la Diputación Provincial de Almería ha felicitado al Ayuntamiento de Berja por plantear la realización de este proyecto pensado para los menores y sus familias: “Berja es uno de los municipios de la provincia con una historia más rica, de la que todos nos sentimos orgullosos. Y por eso no hay mejor idea que vincular estos espacios para el encuentro con la esencia de lo que somos y rendir un homenaje a nuestros antepasados. Es la mejor forma para que nuestros niños y niñas descubran sus raíces al tiempo que aprenden y se divierten”, ha manifestado.

Del mismo modo, García ha puesto al municipio como ejemplo a seguir por otros pueblos respecto a la rentabilidad que obtiene de las inversiones de Diputación al afirmar que “Berja es un magnífico ejemplo de cómo ha aprovechado las inversiones provinciales para embellecer sus calles y contar con más y mejores infraestructuras. Todo ello se traduce en calidad de vida, bienestar y comodidad para virgitanos y visitantes”.
A modo de conclusión, el presidente provincial ha remarcado el compromiso de la Diputación de Almería con Berja porque, como ha señalado “vamos a seguir apostando por otros grandes proyectos y la mejora de los servicios e infraestructuras municipales. Y todo aquello que siga mejorando vuestras vidas porque construyendo municipio construimos provincia y entre todos hacemos una Almería más próspera y con más oportunidades”.

Este nuevo espacio público se ha transformado en un punto de encuentro y diversión para los niños y niñas de Berja y el resto de pueblos de la comarca. El diseño y la temática de los juegos homenajea el pasado minero del municipio. El elemento que más llama la atención es una torre minera de 9 metros de altura con forma de prisma hexagonal con dos amplios toboganes, uno de 5 y otro de 7 metros de longitud, que emulan conductos de transporte de materiales. Dispone de seis plantas con diferentes elementos jugables como un rocódromo, escalera de red, malla de cuerda, tubo de red trepable o un túnel de acero inoxidable.

Entre el resto de juegos se puede encontrar una locomotora, un remolque o un carromato de madera para niños de 2 a 6 años, balancines de acero inoxidable, un telefonillo, un columpio de arco cesta, una vagoneta y un tren minero, toboganes… Asimismo se ha instalado un pavimento de césped artificial y se ha acometido una recuperación medioambiental con la incorporación de una treintena de nuevos árboles y la limpieza las planta y árboles que ya se encontraban en la zona.
