La Consejería de Salud y Consumo de Andalucía ha respondido a las críticas del PSOE sobre la falta de citas para realizar ecografías en el Distrito Sanitario Almería. Según el PSOE, desde mayo, los pacientes que necesitan esta prueba diagnóstica no pueden acceder a ella y se les recomienda ir a una clínica privada. La Consejería ha asegurado que el Servicio Andaluz de Salud garantiza la realización de las ecografías y que ha reforzado el servicio ante las incidencias puntuales que se han producido. Además, ha anunciado que está trabajando en un protocolo consensuado entre Atención Primaria y Atención Hospitalaria para optimizar la atención sanitaria.

La polémica surgió después de que el PSOE denunciara que los profesionales de los servicios administrativos de la Junta, “ante la insistencia de los pacientes que no obtienen la cita desde hace meses y en un alarde de sinceridad”, les aconsejaran “acudir a una clínica privada” para poder obtener "esta prueba que la Junta les niega desde mayo". El PSOE calificó esta situación de “inadmisible” y exigió a la Consejería que solucionara “de inmediato” este problema que afecta a la salud de los almerienses.

La Consejería, por su parte, ha replicado que el Servicio Andaluz de Salud (SAS) “garantiza la realización de ecografías en el Distrito Almería” y que ha afrontado “incidencias puntuales que se han resuelto con el refuerzo del servicio”. Según la Administración sanitaria, estas incidencias se debieron a “la baja temporal de un profesional” y a “la rotura de un ecógrafo” que ya ha sido reparado. La Consejería ha afirmado que el SAS “está trabajando de manera paralela en un protocolo consensuado entre Atención Primaria y Atención Hospitalaria, para la realización de estas pruebas”, así como "reorganizando el Servicio de Radiología para optimizar la atención sanitaria". La Consejería ha pedido al PSOE que “deje de alarmar a la población con falsedades” y que “colabore con la gestión sanitaria en beneficio de los ciudadanos”.
