Un equipo de Salvamento Marítimo ha rescatado a quince migrantes subsaharianos que viajaban en una patera cerca de Cabo de Gata, en la provincia de Almería. El aviso se recibió a las 23,11 horas de este pasado jueves, cuando se detectó una embarcación a 3,5 millas al sur del cabo.

La patera fue escoltada y trasladada por la Salvamar Spica, en presencia de la Guardia Civil, hasta el Puerto de Almería. Allí desembarcaron los quince ocupantes, trece de ellos varones, una mujer y un menor. Según fuentes de Salvamento Marítimo, los migrantes están en aparente buen estado de salud y fueron atendidos por Cruz Roja.
Este es el último rescate de migrantes que se produce en las costas almerienses, donde se ha registrado un aumento de las llegadas en los últimos meses. Según datos del Ministerio del Interior, entre enero y agosto de este año han llegado a Almería 2.387 personas en 97 pateras, un 36% más que en el mismo periodo del año anterior.

Según los datos del Ministerio del Interior, entre enero y agosto de este año han llegado a España por vía marítima y terrestre 18.745 migrantes irregulares1, lo que supone un aumento del 3,3% respecto al mismo periodo del año anterior. La mayoría de los migrantes llegaron por vía marítima (16.378), sobre todo a las Islas Canarias (9.864). Las principales nacionalidades de los inmigrantes fueron la colombiana, la marroquí y la venezolana.
