Los ecologistas presentaron un recurso de alzada contra la autorización medioambiental concedida por la Junta a este establecimiento hotelero. En caso de que el Ayuntamiento de Níjar también otorgue su aprobación, la decisión de permitir la construcción del hotel irá a los tribunales mediante la interposición de un recurso contencioso administrativo. Los grupos ecologistas aseguran que el rechazo social es significativo, respaldado por casi 300,000 firmas recogidas en contra del proyecto.
