Casimiro ha valorado positivamente la inauguración de este tramo de carril bici para que "los vecinos de Almería, de Huércal, así como cualquier visitante, puedan desplazarse de una forma activa, saludable y segura". Actualmente, la red de carriles bici en el término municipal de Almería supera los 80 km y, según ha destacado el edil, “nuestro objetivo es seguir ampliándola”.
En este sentido, ha recordado que desde el Ayuntamiento de Almería se ha puesto en marcha un programa que se llama 'Andando y en bici al cole' con el objetivo "de favorecer la seguridad de las personas que se desplacen de una forma eficiente por la ciudad".

El primer tramo discurre por el carril existente en la Avenida Médico Francisco Pérez Company, a la altura del Centro Comercial Torrecárdenas, conectando con Huércal de Almería. Mientras que el segundo conecta el carril existente en la Avenida Torrecárdenas con la Avenida Médico Francisco Pérez Company y, por otro lado, conecta con la red de carriles bici en la rotonda de la calle Isal de Cabrera con la Avenida Mare Nostrum.
