El Pabellón de Historia Natural de la Universidad de Almería abría sus puertas el pasado 1 de julio convirtiéndose en un referente museístico en la provincia de Almería. Hasta la fecha, más de 2.500 visitantes han podido disfrutar de los jardines botánicos y las exposiciones temporales y permanentes que ofrece al público general y a la comunidad educativa.

El sábado 16 de diciembre, habrá un taller para adultos de centros navideños sostenibles elaborados con plantas naturales. El domingo 17 de diciembre, los más pequeños serán los protagonistas con un taller de regalos de Navidad, con elementos vegetales y reciclados.
Las actividades se reanudarán el sábado 23 de diciembre con un nuevo taller para adultos de centros navideños con plantas naturales. Continuará el miércoles 27 del presente mes con la charla ‘Usos de las plantas y curiosidades botánicas’ con la que los asistentes aprenderán sobre los beneficios y usos de las plantas autóctonas de Almería. Con Manuel Sánchez Robles, conservador de la Colección del Banco de Germoplasma y Jardines Botánicos del Centro de Investigación de Colecciones Científicas de la Universidad de Almería.

El Pabellón de Historia Natural de la UAL dispone de una amplia oferta de visitas y talleres para los centros educativos enfocadas a ampliar y reforzar el currículum escolar. Los centros educativos deben contactar a través del correo electrónico: cecoual@ual.es
En la actualidad se está trabajando en abrir nuevas líneas de colaboración con otros departamentos y facultades de la UAL buscando la transversalidad de las exposiciones del Pabellón con otras materias. En este sentido, por ejemplo, ya se está implantando la visita del Jardín de los Matemáticos junto con Las Matemáticas en el Museo, en colaboración con la Facultad de Ciencias Experimentales y su Departamento de Matemáticas. También se trabaja en la puesta en marcha el Club de lectura en colaboración con la Biblioteca de la Universidad, en la que se trabajará con libros de divulgación de ciencias naturales.

El horario de visita por el momento es de 10:00 a 14:00 h. La visita individual no necesita reserva. Para grupos de más de 15 personas y talleres es necesario reservar en cecoual@ual.es
El Pabellón nace con la vocación de ser referente en museística sobre zonas áridas y semiáridas del mundo, de la que Almería es un buen representante, por lo que en su inicio alrededor del 90% de los ejemplares expuestos son de nuestra provincia. Esto tiene como objetivo presentar la gran riqueza en geo y biodiversidad que tiene la provincia a sus habitantes, para muchos de ellos desconocida.
