La moción cuenta con el apoyo de los seis concejales del PSOE, el representante de Ciudadanos (Cs) y un edil no adscrito, superando la representación del Partido Popular en el consistorio. De ser aprobada, Salvador Hernández (Cs), quien previamente había sido alcalde por el Grupo Independiente por Carboneras (GICAR), asumiría nuevamente el cargo.
José Luis Amérigo, del PSOE, sería nombrado primer teniente de alcalde, y Andrés Belmonte, actualmente no adscrito y exmiembro del PSOE, ocuparía la posición de segundo teniente de alcalde. Según los términos del acuerdo entre los promotores de la moción, en agosto de 2024, Hernández cedería la alcaldía a Amérigo.
