Según los datos registrados durante la semana de duración de la campaña se realizaron un total de 173 controles a otros tantos vehículos que dieron como resultado que solamente seis de los conductores incumplían la normativa vigente sobre el uso del cinturón de seguridad, mientras que en el caso de los 95 pasajeros adultos controlados, solamente fueron tres. Por su parte, de los 17 menores de 12 años o con estatura inferior a un metro treinta y cinco centímetros, fueron siete los que viajaban sin usar sistemas de retención infantil. Los datos han sido valorados por el concejal de forma positiva, si bien considera que se debe seguir concienciando tanto a conductores como pasajeros, especialmente en el caso de los menores, para que utilicen el cinturón y las sillitas homologadas, aunque sean trayectos cortos y dentro del casco urbano.

De hecho, los sistemas de retención infantil y los cinturones de seguridad salvan unas 5.700 vidas al año en el continente europeo y si todos los ocupantes utilizaran los sistemas de retención podrían salvarse hasta 2.800 vidas adicionales en las carreteras europeas. Así mismo, en relación con el uso del cinturón, en el año 2019 y en vías de circulación interurbanas, el 20% de las personas fallecidas de 12 años o más, ocupantes de turismos y furgonetas, no utilizaban el cinturón de seguridad; y en vías urbanas no lo llevaban el 37% de las personas fallecidas. Valores que demuestran que la importancia de utilizar siempre el cinturón de seguridad.
