Este año la campaña se ha celebrado bajo el lema ‘EmpaTEA con mujeres’
La Plaza Mayor de El Ejido se ha convertido esta mañana en el epicentro de los actos conmemorativos por el Día Mundial de Concienciación sobre el Autismo, que se celebra cada 2 de abril, y en los que han participado alumnos de los centros educativos y las asociaciones que trabajan diariamente para mejorar la calidad de vida de las personas con discapacidad, que son Soy Especial y Qué, Altea, Asperger Almería, Cuenta Conmigo, Activa tu Ocio, Asprodesa, Neuralba Contigo, Dárata, Nos comunicamos todos y Murgi.

Este año la campaña se ha dedicado a las niñas y a las mujeres con autismo, bajo el lema ‘EmpaTEA con mujeres’ (trastornos del espectro autista).
El alcalde de El Ejido, Francisco Góngora, ha participado en los actos programados con motivo de este día junto a la concejala de Discapacidad, María del Mar Martínez; ediles del equipo de Gobierno y de la Corporación Municipal; y la gerente del Distrito Sanitario Poniente, Enriqueta Quesada.

Las actividades han dado comienzo con la lectura de un manifiesto y con una suelta de globos biodegradables. A posteriori, han tenido lugar diversos talleres dirigidos a alumnos de secundaria, con un taller de interferencias, taller de regulación emocional, taller de comunicación y taller de comorbilidad. A esa misma hora ‘Alejú Servicios Culturales’ ha iniciado actividades y juegos de animación con alumnos y alumnas de aulas TEA y aulas específicas, también en la Plaza Mayor. También se han iluminado las escaleras de la Casa Consistorial en color azul.

Por su parte, María del Mar Martínez ha puesto de relieve que “este año la campaña pone el acento en la detección precoz en las niñas y mujeres que han estado Infra-representadas en los estudios científicos sobre el autismo, de modo que no se han abarcado adecuadamente importantes manifestaciones típicamente femeninas del espectro”.
La programación con motivo de esta efeméride comenzó hace unos días con charlas en los centros educativos que han abordado la importancia de la sensibilización, señales de alerta y detección temprana a cargo de las asociaciones. Además, se ha realizado un programa especial en la emisora municipal Radio Ejido y la jornada de hoy concluirá con un taller a cargo de Neuralba Contigo en el Centro Asociativo Municipal.
