En una reciente declaración, el delegado del Gobierno en Andalucía, Pedro Fernández, ha rechazado las críticas de la Junta de Andalucía sobre la supuesta falta de inversiones en la comunidad por parte del Ejecutivo central, especialmente en infraestructuras ferroviarias. Según Fernández, el Gobierno de España ha licitado actuaciones que suman más de 3.500 millones de euros en Andalucía, recuperando proyectos que llevaban años en un cajón debido a la inacción del anterior ejecutivo del PP. Incluso algunos expedientes habían caducado.

El delegado ha destacado en el ámbito ferroviario los más de 700 millones de euros para la renovación integral de la alta velocidad Madrid-Sevilla. Además, se ha invertido 3.500 millones de euros en la LAV Murcia-Almería, se ha eliminado el aislamiento ferroviario de Granada y se han iniciado las obras de la variante de Loja.
En relación a Almería, se ha mencionado la licitación de los proyectos del corredor ferroviario Granada-Almería, la puesta en servicio de la estación de Alta Velocidad en Antequera (Málaga), la creación de la conexión Málaga-Granada mediante un tren Avant sin transbordos y el baipás de Almodóvar del Río (Córdoba) para mejorar los tiempos de viaje actuales entre Sevilla y Málaga.

Por su parte, la consejera de Fomento, Articulación del Territorio y Vivienda, Rocío Díaz, ha advertido al Gobierno de que Andalucía no se conformará con las “migajas” anunciadas por el ministro de Transportes, Óscar Puente, y ha reclamado el mismo trato en inversión ferroviaria que el recibido por otras comunidades.
