Andalucía abre con Cosentino la colaboración público-privada de su Plan de Aguas Regeneradas a grandes empresas

La consejera de Agricultura, Pesca Agua y Desarrollo Rural, Carmen Crespo, ha destacado este lunes que la apuesta hecha por la Junta de Andalucía para impulsar la colaboración público-privada con grandes empresas de la región, -tales como el Grupo Cosentino-, permite seguir trabajando en el desarrollo del Plan de Aguas Regeneradas de la comunidad. Una colaboración que, según ha explicado Crespo, contribuye a seguir elevando el volumen del 17% que tiene Andalucía.
Así lo ha manifestado Crespo durante una visita técnica al parque industrial de la multinacional en Cantoria (Almería), donde ha conocido los avances en la Estación propia Regeneradora de Aguas Residuales (ERAR) que garantiza el autoconsumo energético de esta compañía, ya que permite el cese en el uso de 324.000 m³ de aguas subterráneas, favoreciendo así la recuperación de los acuíferos

Según ha señalado Crespo, Cosentino “es marca Andalucía y marca España”, algo que la compañía demuestra “mediante la innovación y la búsqueda constante de nuevas soluciones; y así lo demuestra esta ERAR, pues gracias a su tecnología puntera hace posible la reutilización del agua de este terciario”. La consejera ha recordado que de esta forma se ha logrado conseguir el Vertido Cero “ya que el 99% de los procesos industriales de la compañía utilizan ahora agua reciclada”.
La titular andaluza de Agua ha valorado la concesión para el uso de aguas tratadas en la Estación Depuradora de Aguas Residuales (EDAR) que da servicio a los municipios almerienses de Fines, Macael y Olula del Río como un servicio “clave”. Además, ha indicado que Grupo Cosentino “se ha consolidado como una empresa ejemplar, comprometida con la economía circular y con la eficiencia hídrica; felicitamos a la compañía por su iniciativa de construir esta ERAR que le permite poner en marcha un sistema terciario para contar con aguas regeneradas en su fábrica”, ha incidido.

Cosentino reutiliza el agua para el riego del cinturón verde que creó en su Parque Industrial como sumidero de CO2, en las plantas de fabricación de los compuestos Silestone y Dekton, así como en la planta de pulido de mármoles.

La consejera ha recordado que el caso de la multinacional, que en 2023 alcanzó una cifra de negocio de 1.570 millones de euros, es un “ejemplo claro” de los resultados que se pueden lograr mediante la colaboración público-privada. Crespo ha insistido en que la multinacional ha demostrado cómo “el impulso empresarial y el crecimiento de esta empresa no está reñido con la mejora hídrica de una zona que necesita hacer eficiente cada gota de agua.

Un paso, -ha mantenido-, que va en la línea del objetivo que persigue la política hídrica de Andalucía, “apoyando grandes proyectos como éste y que, además, de favorecer el uso de las aguas regeneradas en la industria, también supone la recuperación de los acuíferos y mayor disponibilidad hídrica tanto para abastecimiento como para regadío”, ha mantenido la consejera.
