Cienciajazz, una de las actividades de divulgación científica de la Universidad de Almería, ha dado un nuevo giro y lanza una nueva propuesta bajo el título de ‘Cienciajazz en tu pueblo’ con el objetivo de llevar la divulgación científica a toda la provincia.
La primera cita será este jueves a las 20.00 horas en Gádor, en el Edificio de Usos Múltiples, y tendrá como protagonista a José Luis Guzmán, catedrático de Control Automático e Ingeniería de Sistemas de la Universidad de Almería. Guzmán, natural de este municipio, impartirá la charla ‘La magia de la Automática’, que estará precedida de una actuación musical a cargo de la Big Bandarax.

Se trata de una rama de la ingeniería que tiene como fin la búsqueda continua de soluciones tecnológicas y algorítmicas, sostenibles y respetuosas con el medioambiente, que permitan contribuir a la mejora del bienestar social. La robótica es archiconocida socialmente por las soluciones tangibles y visibles que aporta, siendo ésta un claro ejemplo de aplicación de la Automática en la vida real. Sin embargo, la Automática está presente en nuestro día a día mucho más de lo que podemos imaginar y más allá del uso de los sistemas robotizados. A través de su charla, Guzmán arrojará luz sobre cómo esta rama de la ingeniería está presente en cosas tan cotidianas como el funcionamiento de una cisterna, el control de frenado o la estabilidad de un coche, así como en las nuevas famosas freidoras de aire. Es conocida como la ‘tecnología oculta’, ya que se hace uso de la misma continuamente sin ser conscientes de su existencia.

José Luis Guzmán tiene el título de Ingeniería en Informática y el Doctorado Europeo. Doctorado por la Universidad de Almería, con premio extraordinario de doctorado en 2002 y 2006, respectivamente. Comenzó a trabajar en la UAL en 2001 becado y desde entonces ha estado vinculado a ella. Actualmente es catedrático de Control Automático e Ingeniería de Sistemas de la Universidad de Almería, donde también pertenece al grupo de investigación de Automática, Robótica y Mecatrónica.
Esta actividad, que cuenta con la colaboración de la Fundación Española para la Ciencia y la Tecnología- Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación, es gratuita hasta completar aforo.
