Aparte de algunos empleados y ex empleados del grupo ecologista, los demás han negado cualquier relación con la organización. La compañía dueña del hotel expresó su intención de reparar los daños ocasionados hace diez años, aunque admitió que no ha sido posible debido a "restricciones económicas".

Además, reiteró que el edificio estaba en buen estado, a pesar de los robos y la paralización judicial, y que contaba con "6.500 reservas a dos meses" de su apertura. "Un juez local ordenó la suspensión para prevenir, según él, daños mayores. No entiendo qué daños mayores podrían haber ocurrido", cuestionó.
Durante el juicio también se ha atendido el informe pericial aportado por la defensa a través de la declaración del arquitecto encargado de su redacción, quien ha trasladado a partir de la documentación que maneja que edificio supone una "ruina urbanística", pero también una "ruina económica" ya que precisaría, según su investigación, una inversión "superior al 50% del valor del edificio".
