El Coliving se da sobre todo en los jóvenes, en el momento de la emancipación, en etapas de formación y al inicio de la actividad laboral. Se trata de alquileres temporales, promovidos por una empresa o institución. No son viviendas completas, son alojamientos dónde los espacios privados son una habitación con baño y el resto de espacios son comunitarios, cocina, salones, comedores, salas de actividades sociales.

Hace unos días el Gobierno de España ha aprobado un nuevo modelo de cuidados, primera estrategia estatal de cuidados, que cuenta con un presupuesto inicial de 1.300 millones de euros de fondos europeos hasta el 2027. Se trata de una hoja de ruta que se ha marcado como objetivo que en el 2030 ninguna persona dependiente, mayoritariamente mayores, abandone su hogar si no quiere. Que reciba los cuidados y la atención que precisan en su propia casa, en su entorno, con sus referencias y su red social. Y los que no quieran (o el grado de dependencia en la que se encuentre aconseje la institucionalización) que lo hagan en residencias donde sus derechos personales sean respetados. En habitaciones con sus pertenencias y recuerdos, con su intimidad y, sobre todo, con su capacidad de decidir, algo que se pierde de manera clara en una residencia. Todo esto pasa por la evolución con este objetivo de las residencias tradicionales.
