Un total de 36 actividades deportivas para todos los públicos y edades se celebrarán en torno a la Feria en honor a la Virgen del Mar que se celebra en la ciudad de Almería entre el 16 y el 24 de agosto, tal y como ha trasladado hoy en la Sala de Prensa de la Plaza Vieja el concejal de Ciudad Activa, Movilidad Urbana y Deporte, Antonio Jesús Casimiro en la presentación “de la programación deportiva más completa de las últimas ediciones”.

“El deporte te hace feliz y por eso no puede faltar en una programación como la de la Feria, estandarte del cante, baile, gastronomía, reuniones con amigos, familia y ocio. Sabemos que los efectos positivos del ejercicio son indiscutibles y por eso, desde el Patronato Municipal de Deportes, queremos llegar a más de 30.000 personas con estas actividades”, ha valorado el edil.
Ante más de una treintena de responsables y coordinadores de los distintos clubes y entidades que participan en la programación de la Feria, Antonio Jesús Casimiro ha querido agradecerles “su implicación” en la elaboración de esta programación tan completa que engloba disciplinas como la esgrima, travesía a nado, certamen andaluz de pesca, piragüismo, diverbasket, pesca infantil, fotografía submarina, pádel, fútbol sala, voleibol playa, halterofilia, bádminton playa, orientación, klask, ajedrez, fútbol femenino o frónton, entre otras.

Hasta la inauguración de la Feria de Almería, prevista para el viernes 16 de agosto, se han programado cinco actividades. La primera de ellas tuvo lugar el pasado sábado, día 3 de agosto, con el concurso de fotografía submarina de la que se expondrán las premiadas en en el Club de Mar durante la Feria. Su gerente, Javier Cabezón, ha destacado la estrecha colaboración que esta programación está teniendo con la Autoridad Portuaria, ya que el mar será protagonista.
Este sábado, día 10 de agosto, se celebra la XXII Open Feria de Almería Sol de Oro 2024; el lunes 12 de agosto tendrá lugar el XXIV Torneo Inauguración de Pádel; el miércoles 14 de agosto será el Trofeo de Feria de Fútbol Sala de la AAFS; y, por último, el jueves 15 de agosto Voleibol 3x3 en El Palmeral.

El grueso de las actividades deportivas se celebrarán el primer fin de semana de Feria, especialmente el sábado 17 de agosto, cuando se desarrollarán hasta once competiciones a lo largo de la jornada.
“Según un reciente estudio científico de las Universidades de Yale y Oxford, una vez cubiertas las necesidades básicas que todos tenemos, el deporte nos hace más feliz que el dinero. Por eso quiero aprovechar la ocasión para invitaros a todos a participar en cualquiera de las 36 actividades que desde el Ayuntamiento de Almería ofrecemos a los ciudadanos durante estos días”, ha trasladado Casimiro.

En su intervención, el responsable municipal de Deportes ha querido poner en valor la trayectoria de clubes como Cludemi, con Jose Antonio Segura al frente, o Depoadap, presidido por José Carlos Tejada, que coordina la ‘Travesía a Nado Ciudad de Almería Carlos Tejada’ que se celebra el próximo 24 de agosto en la playa frente a La Térmica.
En la presentación se han dado cita, entre otros, José Francisco. Cara García, delegado provincial de la Federación Andaluza de Baloncesto; Javier Segura, del Club Deportivo Pickleball Almería o Francisco Sáez, delegado de la Federación de Tenis Playa Almería, un deporte que está ganando protagonismo dentro de las propuestas de disciplinas de arena.

“Almería es vida y es más vida que nunca en su feria, que se celebra del 16 al 24 de este mes, en honor a su patrona, la Virgen del Mar. Ese mar al que queremos convertir en nuestro cómplice y que va a estar muy presente en esta programación”, ha trasladado Antonio Jesús Casimiro, quien ha recordado que la programación podrá consultarse en las páginas webs de cada club organizador así como en las redes sociales y en la propia web del Ayuntamiento de Almería.
