Según la Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (AEMET), las áreas más afectadas por las nevadas serán la Cordillera Cantábrica, los Pirineos y el Sistema Central durante el sábado 7 y el domingo. Las precipitaciones no solo impactarán en carreteras locales y comarcales, sino también en importantes vías de alta capacidad como la AP-66 León-Asturias, A-67 Cantabria-Palencia, A-52 Orense-Zamora, A-23/N-330 Huesca-Canfranc, A-1 Madrid-Segovia-Puerto de Somosierra y AP-6 Madrid-Segovia-Puerto de Guadarrama. La DGT advierte que el número exacto de vías afectadas puede cambiar conforme avance la tormenta.

En caso de que las nevadas interfieran con la circulación, la DGT está preparada para implementar diversas medidas con el fin de asegurar tanto la fluidez del tráfico como la seguridad vial. Esto podría incluir restricciones a vehículos pesados y a aquellos sin neumáticos adecuados o cadenas. También se contempla limitar la velocidad máxima permitida y prohibir adelantamientos.

Además, se podrán realizar cortes preventivos totales y establecer desvíos obligatorios. Para gestionar situaciones críticas, Tráfico tiene listos 32 desvíos automatizados y vigilados para camiones que se activarán si es necesario.
Ante estas circunstancias adversas, la DGT recuerda a los conductores algunas recomendaciones esenciales para circular con seguridad: dejar libre el carril izquierdo para facilitar el paso a vehículos encargados del mantenimiento de las carreteras y quitanieves; prestar atención a las señales en los paneles informativos; seguir las indicaciones de los agentes de Tráfico; y asegurarse de contar con equipamiento adecuado como cadenas o neumáticos especiales para transitar con seguridad.
