Las obras de remodelación del mercado de Los Ángeles deberían estar avanzadas en más de un 60 por ciento en este momento, si la alcaldesa y su equipo hubieran cumplido con los plazos establecidos al recibir una subvención cercana a 1,2 millones de euros provenientes de fondos europeos.

La concejala del PSOE, Lidia Compadre, ha señalado que para poder acceder a esta subvención, el Ayuntamiento debía haber ejecutado al menos el 60 por ciento de la inversión antes del 31 de diciembre de 2024. Sin embargo, las obras ni siquiera han comenzado. Compadre considera que “la alcaldesa, con su falta de diligencia, está poniendo en riesgo la llegada de esos 1,2 millones de euros a nuestra ciudad”.
Preocupaciones sobre la gestión municipal
La concejala se pregunta “por qué no se priorizan las actuaciones que corren el riesgo de no ser financiadas por Europa si no se cumplen los plazos”, lamentando que ya se ha evidenciado cómo a la alcaldesa no le preocupa tener que devolver dinero a la Unión Europea. Esto ya ocurrió con los 800.000 euros destinados a las obras del Katiuska, cuya financiación tuvo que ser asumida con recursos propios del Ayuntamiento debido a los retrasos.

Además, expresó su preocupación por cómo las demoras del PP están afectando a los comerciantes locales, quienes continúan trabajando en instalaciones en condiciones muy precarias durante otra Navidad. Ha solicitado al equipo de Gobierno que se reúna con ellos, ya que tampoco están conformes con cómo se planea abordar la distribución de sus puestos cuando finalmente inicien las obras.
En resumen, la concejala del PSOE denuncia “el retraso injustificado para comenzar las obras, que deberían estar ejecutadas en más del 60 por ciento; la posibilidad real de perder la subvención europea; y la falta de consenso entre el PP y los propietarios sobre cómo gestionar las obras sin afectar negativamente a la actividad comercial”.
