Por su parte, el delegado de Agricultura, Antonio Mena, ha recordado que con el desarrollo de esta actuación se ha conseguido un objetivo doble. “Por un lado, conducir adecuadamente la totalidad de los vertidos residuales urbanos recogidos hacia la ubicación de la estación depuradora ejecutada y, por otro, proporcionar a las aguas residuales un tratamiento adecuado para su depuración, de forma que se puedan verter al cauce público adyacente cumpliendo la normativa en vigor”.

La instalación de la EDAR está automatizada con un edificio de centro de control de motores y un programa SCADA que controla y supervisa los procesos de esta depuradora. Además, se ha dotado de una instalación de placas fotovoltaicas de 30 kW pico de potencia que mejoran la sostenibilidad y eficiencia de las instalaciones de depuración. Tras la inversión realizada por la Junta de Andalucía, el término municipal de Fondón dispone de una infraestructura adecuada que consigue mejorar el entorno del río Andarax, eliminando los vertidos de aguas residuales tan perjudiciales para la flora y fauna de la zona, cumpliendo así con la normativa vigente.
