Bajo el lema ‘Energía Solar: nuevos usos, nuevos desafíos’, este congreso es organizado por la Asociación Española de Energía Solar (AEDES), que representa a la delegación en España de la International Solar Energy Society (ISES). La cita se llevará a cabo en el Centro de Investigaciones en Energía Solar (CIESOL), una colaboración entre la Universidad de Almería y el CIEMAT (Centro de Investigaciones Energéticas Medioambientales y Tecnológicas).
Un evento con tradición y relevancia
Este congreso, que se celebra cada dos años, ha ganado reconocimiento como un punto de encuentro fundamental para investigadores y profesionales hispanohablantes y lusófonos dedicados al estudio y aplicación de la energía solar. La elección de Almería como sede aporta un valor significativo, ya que a tan solo 30 kilómetros se encuentra la Plataforma Solar de Almería. Esta instalación científica cuenta con casi 50 años de historia y ha sido clave para los avances en generación termosolar y aplicaciones solares en el tratamiento del agua.

Los logros alcanzados en este campo son resultado del esfuerzo conjunto de diversas personas, instituciones y empresas no solo en España, sino también en Portugal e Iberoamérica. Aparte de los retos técnicos, existen cuestiones sociales y ambientales que requieren atención. Temas como la circularidad en proyectos solares, el manejo del final de vida útil de los sistemas y las preocupaciones sobre el impacto paisajístico y ambiental están en la agenda del congreso.
