Además, la Mesa del Tren muestra su “preocupación” por cómo los tiempos se van dilatando “sin que se aprueben esas medidas necesarias para avanzar en la conexión ferroviaria entre la estación y el puerto de la capital”. En este sentido Tejada recuerda al presidente de Puertos del Estado que “desde nuestra plataforma hemos mantenido reuniones en los últimos años con instituciones como el Parlamento Europeo donde estuvimos en 2017; con el Congreso de los Diputados, Parlamento de Andalucía, con la propia Autoridad Portuaria de Almería y todos ellos han tenido conocimiento de nuestra propuesta. Y, por supuesto, con Adif y la Consejería de Fomento de la Junta de Andalucía. Es decir, que todas las instituciones que tienen algo que decir al respecto han tenido información precisa de nuestra petición”. José Carlos Tejada recuerda asimismo que hace un año “trasladamos al ministro de Transportes y Movilidad Sostenible, Óscar Puente, la necesidad de que aprovechando la segunda fase de las obras de soterramiento de las vías del tren en la capital se abordasen una serie de actuaciones complementarias a esa obra como era la construcción de un cajón soterrado que facilitara en un futuro esa conexión ferroviaria con el puerto”.

Al mismo tiempo José Carlos Tejada informa cómo “era urgente tomar decisiones porque siguen vigentes una serie de subvenciones europeas para aquellas capitales que estén ahora mismo en fase de obras como es el caso de Almería y después de un año no hemos visto ninguna respuesta”. Además, el coordinador de la plataforma ciudadana que reúne a más de 230 colectivos, lamenta que tampoco haya ninguna respuesta “por parte de la presidenta de la Autoridad Portuaria, Rosario Soto, que encargó un estudio de implementación sobre la conexión ferroviaria sin que tengamos por su parte ninguna noticia a pesar de que ya han pasado 14 meses”.

Por todo ello “pedimos al presidente de Puertos del Estado que estudie las propuestas que desde la mesa planteamos y, en consecuencia, empiece a agilizar y, sobre todo, a activar desde el punto de vista institucional la posibilidad de que ese cajón soterrado se construya aprovechando la ejecución de la segunda fase de integración de las vías del tren y en un futuro la estación de Almería pueda estar conectada con el puerto”, concluye Tejada.
