Sobre la seguridad en Adra, tras los recientes incidentes graves –incluyendo un homicidio, tiroteos e incendios–, Martín inició con un firme "mensaje de tranquilidad". Apoyándose en datos, afirmó: "Adra es un municipio seguro en el que el índice de criminalidad no está por encima de la media de la provincia de Almería, siendo la provincia de Almería una provincia en la que el índice de criminalidad está cinco puntos por debajo de la media nacional". Desvinculó categóricamente estos hechos puntuales tanto de la alta inmigración como del narcotráfico: "Lo uno no tiene que ver con lo otro... vincular una cosa con la otra es una cuestión interesada que evidentemente no se ajusta a la realidad". Sobre el homicidio, confirmó la investigación "concienzuda" de la Guardia Civil para llevar a los autores ante la justicia y restablecer la normalidad en una localidad que describió como "tranquila" y "maravillosa".
Al profundizar en la lucha contra el narcotráfico, el subdelegado destacó el éxito rotundo de una operación clave hace un año contra el "petaqueo" (redes logísticas): "Un golpe... con la detención de 50 personas, la incautación de 23 embarcaciones y el decomiso de 40.000 litros de combustible... que logró que las narcolanchas que llegaban prácticamente a diario prácticamente desaparecieran". Subrayó el compromiso continuo, revelando que Almería cuenta con el "máximo histórico" de efectivos de seguridad –260 agentes más que hace seis años– y anunció la mayor oferta de empleo público para Guardia Civil y Policía Nacional: más de 6.000 plazas en 2025. Elogió sin reservas a los agentes: "Tenemos una policía y una guardia civil de élite... podemos estar muy orgullosos".

Al abordar la cuestión migratoria y los dispositivos de acogida, Martín contextualizó la situación como una "emergencia humanitaria", derivada de la llegada masiva a Canarias de más de 60.000 personas en 2024, principalmente de Mali, "un país en conflicto bélico". Lanzó una crítica social contundente: "Las mismas personas que hoy se sorprenden al ver llegar a personas subsaharianas no se sorprendían, incluso hacíamos recibimientos públicos a quienes venían de Ucrania... Es importante señalarlo: huyen de conflictos bélicos, igual que los ucranianos". Explicó que solicitantes de asilo son acogidos en dispositivos temporales gestionados por ONGs, donde "se les da atención humanitaria, formación y se les enseña español para facilitar su integración", aunque reconoció la lentitud del proceso de asilo por saturación. Para los casos denegados, señaló que se aplican los convenios internacionales para su posible devolución.

El eterno tema del AVE a Almería fue afrontado sin tapujos. Martín cargó duramente contra el gobierno del PP (2011-2018): "Hubo durante 7 años un gobierno que no hizo absolutamente nada. Con que hubieran hecho la mitad de lo que hacemos ahora, ya estaríamos viajando en AVE hace 3 o 4 años. Esa es la pura verdad... paralizaron lo iniciado por Zapatero y embarraron el debate con excusas como las tortugas moras". Sobre los plazos actuales, se acogió a la "palabra de ministro" Óscar Puente, quien aseguró que llegará antes de fin de legislatura. Detalló avances concretos: el tramo Pulpí-Vera estará finalizado este verano (98% ejecutado), la plataforma Vera-Los Arejos ya está terminada, y los tramos Arejos-Níjar y Níjar-Río Andarax avanzan a más del 80%, destacando obras faraónicas como el puente sobre el Andarax (1,4 km) o los 69 viaductos. "Los hechos no mienten", remarcó, "se trabaja día y noche con 2.500 operarios y una inversión de 3.500 millones".

Centró su crítica en la Diputación (PP) y la empresa pública GALASA: "El escándalo son los nueve hectómetros cúbicos anuales que la desaladora de Carboneras les da... ¡y que se pierden!... Se llenan la boca hablando de eficiencia y están despilfarrando esa agua. ¡Por Dios! Primero limpien su casa y luego exijan". Frente a esto, enumeró las actuaciones del Gobierno: reactivación de la desaladora bajo el Andarax, proyecto de ampliación de Carboneras, conducciones para Adra y Balanegra, mejora de eficiencia en Carboneras (+5 hm³), reparación de la desaladora del Andarax (+1 hm³) y 160 millones para la nueva desaladora Andarax II (+30 hm³). "Estamos haciendo lo que había que hacer", concluyó, exigiendo al PP que "procure que no se pierda ni una gota del agua que ya reciben".
