El consejero de Turismo y Andalucía Exterior, Arturo Bernal, ha realizado una visita a las obras del Plan de Sostenibilidad Turística en Destino en El Ejido, un proyecto que busca fusionar el patrimonio natural e histórico del municipio con la oferta turística. Bajo el lema 'Fusionando Tierra & Mar para un futuro turístico sostenible', este plan cuenta con una inversión de 3,1 millones de euros.

Durante su recorrido, Bernal estuvo acompañado por el alcalde de El Ejido, Francisco Góngora, la delegada del Gobierno andaluz en Almería, Aránzazu Martín, y el delegado territorial de Turismo, Cultura y Deporte, Juan José Alonso. Entre los proyectos destacados se encuentra la creación del Centro de Experiencias Gastronómicas ‘Mar y Tierra’, que rehabilitará un edificio histórico del siglo XIX que sirvió como cuartel de carabineros.
Nuevos Espacios para la Comunidad
Este centro no solo beneficiará a los visitantes, sino que también estará orientado a los residentes locales. “Impulsamos un espacio que fusionará la agricultura sostenible con la pesca tradicional”, explicó Bernal. Además, se prevé la creación de un Jardín Mediterráneo en Guardias Viejas, diseñado para recuperar la vegetación autóctona y ofrecer un entorno natural atractivo para el esparcimiento.

Las obras comenzaron en enero de 2024 y se espera que finalicen en julio. El presupuesto destinado a este jardín asciende a 1,4 millones de euros, abarcando una superficie total de 17.600 metros cuadrados. Bernal subrayó cómo estas iniciativas son ejemplos claros del potencial del turismo para beneficiar a las comunidades locales: “Con estos proyectos, logramos devolver al patrimonio natural e histórico su valor”. La Junta de Andalucía está comprometida con un modelo turístico más sostenible y accesible.
"Creamos destinos más sostenibles y competitivos", añadió el consejero. En total, Andalucía cuenta con más de 83 planes turísticos que superan los 225 millones de euros, con más de 25,7 millones destinados a Almería. Estos planes buscan garantizar un crecimiento equilibrado del turismo sin comprometer los recursos naturales.
