La importancia de la pesca costera artesanal y la acuicultura es fundamental para la conservación de nuestros mares y caladeros, ya que proporcionan productos frescos y de calidad. Por ello, la Consejería de Agricultura, Pesca, Agua y Desarrollo Rural ha destinado más de un millón de euros para esta edición, cofinanciada en un 70% por el Fondo Europeo Marítimo, de Pesca y Acuicultura (FEMPA).
Este presupuesto permitirá llevar a cabo 202 acciones en las cinco provincias costeras andaluzas: Almería, Cádiz, Granada, Huelva y Málaga. La campaña se desarrollará durante el verano, coincidiendo con el aumento del turismo en nuestras costas, lo que maximiza su alcance e impacto.

Las actividades se centrarán en resaltar tanto las prácticas pesqueras como acuícolas y el sistema comercializador asociado. Además, se ofrecerá información sobre las características nutricionales y la calidad de las especies marinas más comunes en las lonjas andaluzas. También se enfatizará la importancia del etiquetado y trazabilidad para asegurar la seguridad alimentaria desde el origen del producto.
Otro aspecto central será concienciar sobre la pesca sostenible y el consumo responsable, evitando así el uso de especies inmaduras y combatiendo el marisqueo ilegal, que afecta negativamente tanto a los consumidores como a los recursos marisqueros.

A través de esta campaña, la Junta reafirma su compromiso con el desarrollo sostenible del sector pesquero y acuícola andaluz. Este sector es uno de los pilares económicos de nuestra región, generando una facturación anual cercana a los 2.450 millones de euros y creando alrededor de 14.733 empleos.
La campaña “Andalucía, Mares que Saben” comenzará su recorrido en Granada el 1 de julio; seguirá en Almería el 3 de julio; después llegará a Cádiz y Huelva el 10; finalizando en Málaga el 14. En total, Almería contará con 45 acciones, distribuidas entre 25 playas pertenecientes a 11 municipios: Adra, El Ejido, Roquetas de Mar, Almería capital, Níjar, Carboneras, Mojácar, Garrucha, Vera, Cuevas del Almanzora y Pulpí.
