“La PAC no se toca. Tanto Montserrat como Crespo han reforzado la posición del Parlamento Europeo, que ya aprobó un informe rechazando el fondo único y con dos pilares, reclamando una PAC con ayudas directas sólidas y una política de desarrollo rural ambiciosa.

La exministra ha reforzado su posición subrayando la necesidad de una PAC “con presupuesto digno, menos burocracia, más flexibilidad y una renta justa para las familias del campo, y ha insistido también en la urgencia de “asegurar el relevo generacional, sin el cual no se garantiza ni la cadena ni la seguridad alimentaria”.
Por su parte, Carmen Crespo ha criticado duramente la propuesta de la Comisión por “diluir y desmantelar la PAC”, especialmente al fusionar el segundo pilar con otros fondos y plantear una degresividad que deja fuera a cultivos importantes como el cereal o el olivar.
