El próximo lunes, 21 de julio, comenzarán las obras de la segunda fase del Paseo de Almería, que afectarán directamente al nudo de Puerta de Purchena. La ampliación de los trabajos a esta zona implicará cortes en el tráfico rodado en la Rambla Obispo Orberá y sus alrededores. Esta planificación ha sido discutida en una reunión que incluyó a representantes de la empresa encargada, UTE ‘Hormigones Asfálticos y Lirola Ingeniería’, así como miembros de la Policía Local, Bomberos y diversas áreas del Ayuntamiento de Almería. La alcaldesa María del Mar Vázquez presidió la Comisión de Seguimiento donde se abordaron los próximos pasos y se ofrecieron disculpas por las posibles molestias generadas.
Cambios en la circulación
Durante esta fase, se implementarán modificaciones significativas en el tráfico en los accesos a Rambla Obispo Orberá y calles colindantes. El acceso a Puerta de Purchena desde la Rambla estará cerrado, específicamente a la altura de la calle San Leonardo. Solo se permitirá el acceso para vehículos destinados al aparcamiento de Obispo Orberá, así como para garajes y operaciones de carga y descarga en puntos habilitados cerca del Teatro Apolo y la Escuela Municipal de Música y Artes (EMMA).

Este corte traerá consigo una señalización provisional que indicará las restricciones y accesos permitidos. Se instalarán señales que orienten a los conductores sobre las direcciones obligatorias y prohibidas, asegurando que aquellos que salgan desde zonas restringidas tengan claro cómo proceder.
Acondicionamiento viales
Se delimitarán los carriles de circulación mediante señalización horizontal amarilla para garantizar que los vehículos circulen correctamente por su derecha. Esta línea será continua excepto en las entradas a garajes, donde será discontinua. Además, se marcará un ceda al paso en la entrada al aparcamiento del Mercado Central.

Los cambios también impactarán las rutas L1 y L18 del servicio de autobuses urbanos. La línea L1 modificará su recorrido a partir de la intersección entre Rambla Obispo Orberá y Avenida Federico García Lorca, generando nuevas paradas en este tramo. Por otro lado, la línea L18 verá alterado su trayecto habitual a lo largo de Obispo Orberá, lo que resultará en tres paradas fuera de servicio.
Ambas líneas adaptarán sus recorridos para mantener el servicio a pesar de las interrupciones causadas por las obras.

A pesar del inicio de estas obras, el servicio de taxis no sufrirá alteraciones significativas; podrán seguir operando desde su parada habitual en Rambla Obispo Orberá. En cuanto al servicio municipal de recogida de residuos, este continuará sin cambios importantes gracias al uso de contenedores móviles que se adaptarán según sea necesario durante el desarrollo del proyecto.
Desde el Ayuntamiento se solicita comprensión ante las dificultades que estas obras pueden ocasionar tanto en el Paseo como en su entorno. Se reitera el compromiso municipal por minimizar inconvenientes mientras se lleva a cabo esta transformación significativa para Almería.
