El Síndrome de Turner es un trastorno genético que resulta de la ausencia total o parcial de un cromosoma X. Mientras que las mujeres poseen dos cromosomas X, los hombres tienen uno X y uno Y. Esta anomalía puede provocar diversas complicaciones en el desarrollo físico y la salud general de las afectadas. Entre los síntomas más comunes se encuentran la baja estatura, el cuello alado y problemas cardiovasculares, así como afecciones relacionadas con la tiroides y diabetes tipo 2.
